Tournament Rules

All games…

  • Have a five minute warmup at the start
  • Are run time
  • Have three 20 minute periods
  • Have no tie breaker, except in the playoffs
  • Round Robin Standings
    • Two points for a win
    • One point for a tie
    • Tie Breaker for Standings
      1. Winner of head-to-head
      2. Goal differential
      3. Coin flip

Gameplay Rules

  • No checking (could result in expulsion from the tournament)
  • No slap shots (above the knee)
  • Absolutely no contact with goalies
    • Any and all unimpeded contact with the goalie will be penalized, accidental or otherwise.
  • No arguing with the refs
    • Our refs are volunteers that are donating their time to charity and doing their best, please respect that.
  • Three penalties equal a game misconduct
    • You could be asked to leave the ice
    • Depending on the severity of the infractions you may be out of the tournament

Playoffs Rules

Playoff Bracket
  • Tie-breaker decided by shootout (see Shootout Rules)
  • Quarter-Finals
    • Third (3) place seed vs sixth (6) place seed
    • Fourth (4) place seed vs fifth (5) place seed
    • Winner of each advances to the semi-finals
  • Semi-Finals
    • First (1) place seed plays against the lowest seed from the round robin play
    • Second (2) place seed plays the remaining quarter-final winner
  • Championship
    • In the event of a tie there will be a five minute sudden death overtime
    • Overtime is followed by a shootout (see Shootout Rules)

Shootout Rules

  • Three player shootout
  • In the event of a tie each team shoots once until there is a winner
  • Each player on the team must shoot before any player gets a second chance
